Hand Protection
Wear gloves to protect your hands when you're working with sharp edges and rough materials. The palms and fingertips should be of leather or thick fabric. The wrists should fit snugly so the gloves stay in place.
When handling solvents, adhesives, and finishes, wear plastic gloves designed to protect against these products. (Some plastics will dissolve when exposed to these chemicals.) The gloves prevent liquids from penetrating to your skin and causing burns or irritation.
However, don't wear gloves when you're using tools. Gloves can slip and cause you to lose your grip. Also, power tools can catch on
them and pull your hand into the cutting area.
